In June, one of my favorite artists informed me he was coming to Vegas in August. The dates were the 8th & 9th, which was good since it was a weekend. Last few times he was in town it was during the week, and that's a tough one. I had to pick wisely, cause, darn, Craig Campell, show time at 11pm is wild...But I was not going to miss it.
Gilley's Saloon, Dance Hall & BBQ is a perfect fit for Nashville recording artist Craig Campbell. It's a fun, energetic crowd and he fits right in. As soon as he hit the stage, opening with "Lot To Live Up To", you could tell we were in for a wild ride. He brings the audience in while performing some of his hits, such as "All My Friends Drink Beer", "Out Of My Head", "Fish", "Keep Them Kisses Comin" and his staunch support for the Second Amendment with "Stick To Our Guns." He did slow it down with, "Outskirts Of Heaven", and his latest single, "Missing You", giving couples the opportunity to hit the dance floor. He even threw in some Merle Haggard and the Neil Diamond favorite, "Sweet Caroline" which always ensures a crowd sing-a-long.
The night went by way too fast, but Craig did not miss a beat with rollin' out the songs one after another and keeping the crowd rollin' along with him. The guys in his band compliment him, they all are talented in their own right and they all come together to make the hits happen.
We had the opportunity to catch up with Craig prior to the show to chat about what's been going on and see what is on his agenda for the rest of the year. He stays busy touring, taking care of his coffee shop, "Grindstone Cowboy", in Eaglesville, TN and heading the Kenny Campbell Foundation which he gave us insight to it's meaning and mission. Just this past June his Celebrity Cornhole Challenge raised over $20,000 and in July a second fundraising event held at the historic Ryman Auditorium raised over $10,000, both for the Foundation.
So I hope you can sit back, take a listen and you can always find Craig at his website: https://www.craigcampbell.tv & all other social media platforms. If you ever get to Vegas check out Gilleys https://gilleyslasvegas.com Also a special shout out to Campbell Entertainment Group: https://campbellentertainmentgroup.com & Maddy for setting this visit in motion, I know things get hectic & it was truly appreciated. Craig, I hope you come back soon.
