Warner Music Nashville and Sweety High Country talent Tegan Marie is joining Girl Scouts Of The USA to kick off this year’s holiday season, taking part in the 92nd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as the featured performer on the Girl Scout float.

A Girl Scout herself, Tegan Marie was chosen for embodying the “G.I.R.L.” (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader)™ spirit and will highlight the organization’s commitment to preparing girls to lead on the “Building a Better World” float. As a role model and girl leader who is breaking barriers in music – she is the youngest female artist in 45 years to sign with a major Country label – Tegan Marie is committed to taking action and encouraging girls everywhere to be change-makers and leaders in their own communities and the world.

“I am super excited to share my voice on the Girl Scout float this Thanksgiving!” Tegan Marie says. “As a Girl Scout, it’s a dream come true to represent more than a million girls who are doing awesome things to change the world. I think all girls should be Girl Scouts so they can join me in making the world a better place."

Tegan Marie’s empowering acoustic track for “I Know How to Make a Boy Cry” is even more powerful than the original video but still just as impressive. Co-written by Tegan Marie with veteran hitmaker Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), the song promotes positive self-worth when young love goes awry, and its Elvis Presley-inspired official video has already been viewed more than 2 MILLION times on YouTube.

The 15 year old powerhouse is the youngest artist to sign a record deal, and rightfully so. Her larger than life voice, ambition and heart warmer character is one great gift to country music. Tegan Marie's star will continue to shine and remain bright. To keep up with new music, tour dates and more go to http://www.teganmarie.com
