The Memory Of The Work Of Toby Keith With Our Military Lives On

I can say with profound truth I was, and still am an avid Toby Keith fan. Losing count after about 50 shows, I will always remember at the end of every night, the thanks he gave to our Military, who rightfully deserved it. "Never apologize for being patriotic."

With permission from Toby's family, the playing of a live-recorded version of his No. 1 hit song, "American Soldier" was a highlight of the National Medal of Honor Museum's opening ceremony drone and fireworks show in Arlington, Texas. The profound lyrics of the song exemplifies what the Medal of Honor recognizes as the nation's highest military award, which is "conferred only upon members of the United States Armed Forces who distinguish themselves through conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty." https://mohmuseum.org

On April 29th, Catch A Lift Fund will present it's inaugural Toby Keith Patriot Award at their 6th Annual Northern Virginia Benefit held at the prestigious Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia. Working with the Keith family, the fund (whose mission is to help combat-injured Veterans heal though fitness, wellness and community support) will present the award annually to an outstanding supporter of the organization. A person whose commitment to Veterans reflects the very essence of service, patriotism, and the unity that Toby lived by.

Toby never wavered from his support of our Military, be it his many tours overseas, his patriotic songs and the many shows he played in the US. I could never imagine a concert NOT ending with "American Soldier." Even though he is no longer with us, his work will never not be important and his legacy will live on.
